A girl's voice broke the large man out of his concentration on his computer screen. He nearly jumped off his bed in surprise.

The girl laughed suddenly. "Calm down, big bro. It's only me."

The man sighed. The weeks of little sleep, intense workouts and long workdays was wearing him thin.

Sometimes I just have those days

To my Perception

Could such be real as this,
The four limbed flower,
With soul and potential,
Before me now with arms open?

Do these tired eyes,
Weary from the bags
That they carry without end,
Deceive by this blessing?

This oasis of a woman,
Who bears the love of Heaven,
Giving to me, it by a single kiss...
To my perception, I am awake...

Undeserved to a single bit of this.

From a deep slumber...

To this cruel color...

As I opened the door to my soul

At one timeAt one time in my life I had wings... beautiful wings that allowed me to soar through the sky... but then She took them in her hands... and destroyed them... breaking them at the joints and tearing the the flesh from them... all that is left are mangled, disgusting abominations... but now, I have someone who cares... someone who is helping me heal... and soon, I shall be able to soar once again... it will be a beautiful sight.

I wrote this for someone very dear to me. It's somewhat hymnal, I think, which is kinda what I was going for; spirituality.
As a piece, it's about asking someone if they will give you a chance and promising you'll be with and take care of them regardless of distance, time or anything else; helping that person whenever they need it, guiding them.
I personally think this is one of my better works.
