Literature Text

When your first word is ‘ball’ and your favourite colour is fuchsia, your destiny is truly fated. Dylan never wanted to be different; he never wanted to stand out or be set apart, but life had different ideas. He often wondered why he was the way he was: Though not a religious person, he did think God was a cruel bitch for making him a homosexual because he was terribly disappointed in his sexual interest in men. Dylan had learned a while back not to fight the inevitable, but he still sometimes lay awake at night contemplating his own existence. This practice generally served no fruitful gain and usually generated more questions than anything else, but he got on with it. He’d never considered himself different when he was growing up - a little out of place maybe, but nothing more. However it just hit him one day when he was 15. Sitting in his classroom, he and his peers had been made to watch a half-hour clip from a movie for their English class. Though he couldn’t remember what the movie was, he could quite clearly recall the defining moment of his life. Watching the clip, Dylan was suddenly taken aback by the appearance of a semi-naked man on the screen and suddenly he’d never been so attentive in his life. Transfixed, the camera panned around the man and Dylan began to notice an unfamiliar sensation in his chest. Slightly panic-stricken, he quickly looked around the classroom before burying his head in his arms on his desk, desperately trying to will away the tightening now growing in his trousers.
Second installment. Less romance, more humour.
